Tetons Day Tripping

Jackson Hole is a comfortable, deluxe vacation paradise. Why slog into the backcountry when you can stay in a hotel and "send" awesome routes each day? If that question utterly offends you, check out the Wind River Range. But if you dig the idea of civilized accommodations with hard climbing each day, this could be a sweet option for you.

  • Type of Adventure:  Alpine rock climbing

  • Season: July and August
  • Prerequisite Skills: Basic climbing
  • Best Lodging Type: Hotel or car camping.
  • Nearest Airport: Jackson Hole, WY
  • Best trip length: 3-5 days.  
  • Advance logistics required: This can be done fairly last minute. Lodging takes a little planning, but everything else is pretty reasonable.

    • Teewinot. Huge, fourth class.
    • Buck Mountain. Huge, fourth class
    • Baxter’s Pinnacle. 7 pitches, 5.9
    • The Snaz. 7 pitches, 5.10a
    • Irene’s Arete. 6 pitches, 5.8
    • Dihedral of Horrors and Annals of time. 7 pitch link up 5.9
