Strapping skis to an Arc Teryx Alpha 45 FL pack… (Travis asked about it in the video). Couple answers to that. Pictured here is a sort of modified skimo race set up I improvised for the Red Line Traverse in 2017. Works real well with small skis. Bigger skis I’ll treat somewhat the same way. Base-to-base, both skis on one side. As long as they’re skis of a size and mass commensurate with actual ski mountaineering (sub 100mm underfoot, sub 1500g per ski, mounted with bindings below 300g per foot) this one-sided mounting doesn't really throw you off. Voile-style straps fit perfectly through the lash tabs on the Alpha 45 FL. Two straps, four tabs, one side, two skis. The straps can live there when the skis are on your feet.
